Most people don't have an information problem.
They have a decision problem.

The questions that matter

Heart health is rarely short of opinions.

The difficult part is deciding which recommendations apply to you, which tests matter and what action is justified by your individual level of risk.

01

Should I take a statin?

02

Do I need a calcium scan?

03

Is ApoB more important?

04

Is my blood pressure high?

05

Can lifestyle be enough?

06

Am I already doing enough?

These questions require context, judgement and a clear framework.

The Barrett Methodβ„’

A better way to think about heart health.

Instead of teaching isolated facts, every recommendation follows the same structured processβ€”helping you move from uncertainty to an informed and practical decision.

1
Assess Establish the facts and your baseline risk.
2
Understand Put results into the correct clinical context.
3
Decide Compare choices, trade-offs and likely benefit.
4
Act Turn the decision into a realistic plan.
5
Measure Track whether the plan is producing change.
6
Refine Adapt the plan as your results and life evolve.

About Dr Paddy Barrett

Evidence first. People always.

I am a preventive cardiologist with a particular interest in helping people understand cardiovascular risk and prevent disease before it happens.

After more than a decade in clinical practice and research, I created The Heart Health Formula to cut through the noise and give people a clear, evidence-based way to make better decisions about their heart.

The goal is not to frighten you, overwhelm you or give you another list of rules. It is to help you understand what matters, what does not and what you should do next.
